R.C.I.A. for adults (16+) interested in becoming Catholic
September 25, 2017Posted by on
One of the chief works of the Church is to instruct people in the faith. There are always people being directed by the Holy Spirit to join the Church.
If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or knowing more about the Catholic Faith, you may leave your name and contact information with the parish office to be enrolled in The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (commonly referred to as R.C.I.A.). This is a formation and preparation process that will begin in October and consist of weekly Wednesday evening meetings that will continue until the last week of Lent, March 21st.
To become a full member of the Catholic Faith, a person must receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. The program, therefore, is for people who have (1) never been baptized; (2) been baptized in another Christian Faith and are now seeking to be accepted into full communion with the Catholic Church, and (3) been baptized in the Catholic Church but have not received both Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
Keep praying for guidance and, above all, do everything possible to get to Mass every Sunday. May the Lord bring to completion the good work He has begun in you.
